User Guide v1.0

The Online Power Flow Assessment Tool was designed as a fast, lightweight, mobile-ready tool that can perform detailed computation of power flow for an unlimited number of buses in a given 3-phase network.

The tool supports Excel file uploads for bus and line data. Examples can be downloaded by clicking HERE for bus data and HERE for line data.

How to Run

  1. Populate your data into a CSV file following the format provided in the example CSVs (download above).
  2. Navigate to the homepage, upload your bus and line data CSVs, and hit submit.
  3. The tool will scan your data, build a schematic representation, and allow you to perform a final check before submitting.
  4. Then click RUN!
  5. The results will be displayed and can be conveniently downloaded in CSV format.

How It Works

The tool analyzes your input data and calculates voltage, angle, real and reactive power values using the iterative Newton-Raphson method. These calculated parameters are then used to determine line flows and losses within the system.
